Our groomers just completed grooming the 1st 10km of the Banadad Trail.
The trail is cleared, packed and groomed from the East End Trailhead for skiing West for 10 km;
Single track, classic. The East End Trailhead parking lot is plowed for parking.
Snow conditions 20 inch snow depth; 6 inch base 3 inch snowfall last 24 hrs.
This is the same section we had opened last year. We worked very hard clearing to open this section. The downfall has been very difficult and we have plans to try and get the entire trail open for next years season. The issue is the very overgrown and difficult to reach center 8 km of the trail. The West End Trailhead is also cleared in 7 km (skiing toward East) but only for BACK COUNTRY skiing. It will not be packed or tracked again this year. The West End Trailhead is also plowed for parking.
